Founder, Horse Of My Dreams

Alisha’s grandfather raised cutting horses and had her on one from the time she was two years old, which she credits for a lifelong love of horses. She rode and trained across many breeds and disciplines growing up, and became an exercise rider at Louisiana Downs while attending Centenary College in Shreveport. Enough people told her she had a gift for training and desensitizing horses that she eventually believed them. She is the one who rides and evaluates every horse that comes through the program.

Horse Of My Dreams began with a bad shopping experience. Looking for a genuinely safe pony for their own children, Alisha and Richard found that almost none were what the seller had promised. Alisha set out to become the reliable source of safe horses and ponies she had not been able to find, and Richard and the kids backed her. For over two decades the family has been selling horses to buyers who never sat on them until they arrived, and they have helped thousands of riders find the right horse.

Alisha and Richard are the authors of The Modern Horse Buyer’s Guide. The Jacuzzis live in Alexander, Arkansas, where Horse Of My Dreams is based.
